Important: This Privacy Policy explains how LaiNetiv Careers, operating under the brand name LaiNetiv, collects, uses, stores, discloses and protects personal data when you use our website, platform, services or communications.
1. Who is responsible for your data
LaiNetiv Careers, operating under the brand name LaiNetiv, is responsible as data controller for deciding how personal data is used for this opportunity-discovery platform. The business is a registered sole proprietorship in Kenya, not a separate limited-liability legal entity.
“We,” “us,” and “our” refer to LaiNetiv Careers, operating under the brand name LaiNetiv.
Privacy contact: support@lainetiv.com. Business address: South C, Rangers Court, Kenya.
2. Scope
This Policy applies to personal data collected through the LaiNetiv website, accounts, subscriptions, opportunity services, customer support, communications, forms, payments and related services.
3. Information collected and its sources
- Account information you provide: name, email, authentication credentials handled by Firebase Authentication, account type, adult/under-18 declaration, and recorded Terms acceptance. For under-18 signup, the nominated guardian’s email, approval status and consent declarations are recorded.
- Profile details you supply: country, telephone/WhatsApp number, career fields, preferred work mode, profile photograph and employer/contact details, where applicable.
- Employer listings and their contact details, logos, application links and verification information; some opportunity information is obtained from public employer sites or third-party job sources.
- Payment information: transaction references, payment status, subscription and customer identifiers, renewal/cancellation records and payment-provider authorisation identifiers. Paystack handles payment entry; our subscription system stores provider references and authorisation identifiers rather than collecting your full card number through our own forms.
- Opportunity activity: your account identifier is associated with records of matched opportunities reached and application-link clicks, to count unique activity. Clicking a link is not proof that you submitted an application.
- Affiliate identifiers, referral attribution, commission totals and payout-request records.
- Support messages and contact details you submit, notification preferences and device push-notification tokens where enabled.
- Technical request information, including IP addresses and service/security logs. The country-lookup endpoint, when used, sends a visitor’s IP address to ipapi.co to estimate country for display purposes.
Please do not put identity documents, health information or other sensitive personal data in ordinary support messages or listing text unless specifically requested through an appropriate process.
4. Purposes and lawful bases
- Contract: account administration, delivering purchased access, matching using your stated fields and work-mode preferences, payment processing and requested support, where necessary to provide the service.
- Legitimate interests: proportionate security, fraud prevention, moderation, basic opportunity reach/click measurement, referral administration and service improvement, where these interests are not overridden by your rights. You may object to this processing.
- Consent: optional notifications and any marketing or optional tracking for which consent is required. Agreeing to Terms is not blanket consent to unrelated processing. You can withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.
- Legal obligations: records and disclosures required by applicable law. Establishing or defending legal claims must also have an applicable lawful basis; it is not unrestricted permission to keep or share information.
Country estimation uses an IP lookup for localised display. You can ask about or object to that use. Necessary processing and optional choices should be distinguished at the point of collection.
5. Matching and automated processing
Opportunity matching uses your selected career fields and preferred work modes to filter relevant listings. Activity records support unique reach and click counts. LaiNetiv’s matching does not decide whether an employer hires you. Employers make their own recruitment decisions.
You can update profile preferences and ask us about matching or request human review of processing affecting you. Applicable rights concerning solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects remain available.
6. Opportunity information
Companies may submit opportunities for publication. We may conduct checks that we consider appropriate, but verification is not an absolute warranty, certification, endorsement or guarantee that an opportunity, company, recruiter, compensation, deadline, location, work arrangement or other representation will remain accurate, lawful or available.
We may remove, restrict, edit, reject or investigate opportunities that appear inaccurate, fraudulent, malicious, unlawful, misleading, expired or unsuitable.
7. Recipients and third-party applications
We do not sell your personal data. We use and disclose it for the purposes described in this Policy, subject to applicable law.
Google/Firebase provides authentication, database, file storage, hosting and messaging services used by the platform. Guardian approval messages are sent through our Google Workspace mailbox using Firebase’s email service. Paystack processes payments and subscription instructions. The country-lookup endpoint uses ipapi.co. Authorised administrators can access information needed for support, account management, moderation and payment administration.
Employer analytics show aggregate reach and application-link click totals, rather than applicant names. Underlying unique-activity records are linked to account identifiers. Employer listing details intended for publication are shown to platform users.
When you follow an application link or email an employer, the recipient receives the information you send under its own privacy practices. We may share information with professional advisers or authorities where legally justified, and in a business transfer subject to applicable safeguards and notice. This is not permission for unrestricted disclosure.
8. Processing outside Kenya
Cloud, payment and country-lookup providers may process data outside Kenya; the country-lookup function is configured in the United States (us-central1). The default Firestore database is configured in the United States (nam5), as checked on 6 October 2026. Other providers may operate in additional countries.
Cross-border processing must satisfy applicable Kenyan transfer requirements, including appropriate safeguards or another legally available transfer basis. Acceptance of these Terms or this Policy is not blanket consent to international transfers. Contact us for information about recipients, destinations and safeguards relevant to your data.
9. Retention and deletion
Account and profile data are kept while needed to provide the account; payment records while required for accounting, legal obligations or payment disputes; support records while needed to resolve requests and claims; activity, referral and technical records while needed for their stated purposes. Retention must be limited to those purposes and applicable legal requirements.
Request account closure, erasure or information about retention at support@lainetiv.com. Closing an account and cancelling a paid renewal are separate requests: specify both if desired. Any lawful retention exception should be explained. Requests are handled through our contact email; account closure and deletion are not currently provided as an automatic self-service process.
10. Your rights and how to exercise them
Under applicable law, you can request information about processing, access to your data, correction of inaccurate information, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability where available, and withdraw consent. You may also exercise applicable rights concerning automated decisions.
Email support@lainetiv.com with your request. We may request proportionate evidence of identity or authority, and must respond within applicable legal deadlines. Exceptions must have a lawful justification. Withdrawing optional consent does not require giving up unrelated services.
11. Browser storage and notifications
The platform uses browser local storage, session storage or IndexedDB for sign-in persistence and interface preferences, depending on browser support. Push notifications use browser permission and messaging tokens; you can change notification settings and revoke browser permission.
Opportunity reach and click measurement is account-linked activity measurement, not anonymous browsing. Browser settings let you manage local storage and permissions, although disabling necessary storage may affect sign-in. If we introduce optional technologies requiring consent, we will request that consent before using them.
12. Security and incidents
We use access controls to restrict account, billing and support information to authorised users and administrators, and verify payment status through the payment provider. No internet service can promise complete security. Keep credentials confidential and report suspected misuse through our contact email.
Where a breach meets the applicable notification requirements, we must notify the relevant authority and affected individuals as required by law. A published privacy policy is not a guarantee that security incidents cannot occur.
13. Children’s data
To arrange guardian approval, we initially collect the applicant’s login details, age declaration and nominated guardian contact. We keep service access pending and do not request career-profile completion or payment until approval. If consent is refused or withdrawn, contact us to close the account and request erasure, subject to lawful retention exceptions.
Kenyan law requires parental or guardian consent and appropriate age-verification and consent mechanisms for processing children’s data, subject to applicable statutory exceptions, and protection of the child’s best interests. We permit under-18 use only with the required parental or guardian consent and oversight. Signup asks whether you are under 18 and, if so, requests a parent or guardian’s email. The approval message is addressed to that guardian, who is asked to confirm adulthood, parental authority and consent. Access remains pending until approval. We record the guardian’s confirmation and declarations. We may request proportionate additional information where we have reason to question age or parental authority. A parent or guardian can contact us about a child’s account or request erasure.
14. Complaints and international rights
You may contact us about a concern, but you do not have to complain to us before contacting the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC) or seeking another lawful remedy.
We currently serve Kenya and do not restrict access solely to Kenyans. Access from elsewhere does not itself establish which foreign laws apply. Where the EU/EEA GDPR, UK GDPR or another country’s privacy law applies to our processing, its mandatory protections remain available, including applicable access, erasure, objection, portability and regulator-complaint rights. Where the EU/EEA or UK GDPR applies, we normally respond to rights requests within one month, subject to lawful extensions and exceptions. Applicable law depends on our activities and its territorial scope; this Policy does not claim that every international privacy law applies or that compliance with all of them has been certified.
15. Policy changes
Updates must accurately reflect our processing. Material changes require appropriate notice, and new processing requiring consent must obtain it before proceeding. A revised Policy does not retrospectively authorise incompatible processing. The effective date above identifies this version.
